This is one of the relationships I want that can only come true in fan fiction.
As a member of the JJLL I believe that Julian Bashir and Jadzia Dax should be a couple.
Jadzia Dax is a joined trill. She consists of the beautiful, intelligent woman Jadzia and the long-lived symbiont Dax. She is a woman who enjoys life, love, laughter, and friendship.
Julian Bashir is a Starfleet doctor. As a young child his parents had him genetically enhanced. From the naive young man who first came to the station Julian has matured into a vital part of Deep Space Nine's staff.
The two captains. This is another pairing that I've been waiting for. Unfortunately it will never happen.
From the moment they met sparks flew.
Two strong willed people. One the captain of a brand new Starfleet vessel, the other the captain of a rag-tag bunch of freedom fighters. Each inspired loyalty from their crew and each would die to save their respective crews (though, they'd prefer to live.)
To save their crews they chose to join forces and that was the start of a wonderful friendship that some (myself included) can only hope will blossom into something more.
Ever since I read in TVGuide that the character of B'Elanna Torres was supposed to have a crush on a certain hotshot pilot I have waited for the day these two would get together. During that wait I had to content myself with some excellent fan fiction.
I admit it--I'm a fan of the relationship between Tom Paris and B'Elanna Torres. These two 'misfits' just seem to fit. He's a hotshot pilot and she's a crackerjack engineer. Together and separately they have proven their worth to Janeway, to the rest of the crew, and to themselves.
I have been a fan of this pairing since before the show even started. I read an article that stated that the engineer was supposed to have a crush on the pilot.
I confess that I can, hazily, see why some people would want B'Elanna with Harry Kim. Her experience with his innocence, her temper with his patience, the meeting of true opposites. But, to be quite frank, I don't think they would work. B'Elanna's forceful personality would end up overwhelming Harry's.
With no Kes for Harry to fall in love with I've decided that Seven would be a good choice for him. Each is naive in their own way.
In one of their first scenes together, there were sparks. She tried to return home; he was in the way. Then they were forced to work together to build Astrometrics, and Harry Kim fell in love. Seven of Nine on the other hand, did not know what love was and assumed he simply wished to procreate with her. She was willing to learn, he wasn't willing to teach. 8^)
This is my latest Star Trek relationship craze. Right from Broken Bow, I wanted to see these two hook up. Later episodes (ie. Breaking the Ice) have only strengthened that resolve. I hope that this is one relationship TPTB don't ruin.
A number of episodes have helped to inspire and reinforce this opinion. We have the decontamination scene in Broken Bow. This was soon followed by the psychotic episodes in Strange New World. Then there were T'Pol's cutting, almost jealous, remarks about Trip's pregnancy in Unexpected. Breaking the Ice revealed T'Pol's growing acceptance of Trip's advice and input.
I have recently become interested in the possibility of a relationship between Malcolm Reed and Hoshi Sato. This interest was sparked by some wonderful fic and pushed onward by the episode Silent Enemy.
Hopefully there will be more scenes of interaction between the shy armoury officer and the anxious communications officer.
